Is At-Home Derma Rolling Safe?

The simple answer to this question is: yes and no.

YES because Dermaroller has a surgical-grade stainless steel roller. 🤗

And

NO because there are thousands of cheap, fake rollers that can be purchased on Amazon. Trust me, I’m a big Amazon shopper but definitely not for facial gadgets. Especially not for a product with needles that I’m going to be rolling on my face. 😳

As we promote our Microneedling treatment for face, body and scalp we get asked if we sell the roller at a 0.5mm length or longer. Our answer is no. We absolutely don’t sell any at-home rollers at a longer length than 0.2mm. That’s what’s safe for at-home use without using any numbing cream and to not get a pin-point bleed.

The needles are 0.2mm in length and are made of surgical-grade stainless steel. This is the optimal needle length to penetrate the epidermis (top layer of the skin) without causing damage to living tissue and bleeding.

At-home derma rolling is completely safe if you’re working with a professional and purchasing the professional, high quality roller.

Solution for:

  • Wrinkles, scars, and stretch marks

  • Uneven skin tone/texture

  • Acne scars

  • Mature skin

On the other hand

Derma rolling can be dangerous if you’re purchasing a roller without sharp, stainless steel needles. You could potentially cause more damage to your skin. If it’s not cleaned properly, you could potentially get an infection. Especially if the needles aren’t stainless steel, they may rust while you’re still rolling that debris on your face.

It's very important to only purchase a high-quality roller and the right depth to safely use at-home.

Details:

  • Medical grade a-traumatic (non-traumatic) needles

  • Optimal number needle count (162)

  • Durable and can be used 3 times a week for up to one year

  • Safe and easy to use

  • Significantly enhances infusion of important nutrients

If you don't find that .2mm is deep enough, we will gladly book you in for an in-clinic treatment where we’ll go deeper with the needles. By getting Microneedling treatments, it’s very important to be using professional, pharmaceutical skincare.

High quality skincare is a must for doing any kind of skin treatment.

By getting in-clinic treatments we will recommend you to use the at-home roller between sessions for added benefits. It will help improve and prolong the results.
