Dermaplaning is not the same thing as shaving. š š»āāļø
When you get a Dermaplaning treatment done by a professional, the blade will be held at a 45 degree angle therefore it will remove peach fuzz and dead skin cells.
When you use a shaver, the blades arenāt nearly as close enough to your skin as the #10 surgical blade will. The surgical blade is also much sharper than your regular shaver.
It definitely freaks out some clients because they're unsure how the treatment goes, if theyāll grow a beard like their husbands after and lets not forget that we might feel a bit of stubble.
Nobody is going to be able to see your peach fuzz growing back, let alone yourself. Peach fuzz is too fine, youāre only going to be able to feel it, thatās it. Youāre also not going to grow a beard. The same fine hairs will grow back like nothing ever happened. They wonāt change colour or grow longer.
As for the little āDermaplaning shaversā out there, theyāre not quite the same as a real surgical blade. It is much safer for at home use but if you want to get a real Dermaplaning Facial, you need to visit a trained professional.

While youāre laying down, getting your face scrapped with a blade, the top layer of your skin, the epidermis is being exfoliated. Dead skin cells are shed continuously off our body but sometimes they need a little help. It takes on average 28 days for new cells to replace old cells. Theyāre supposed to slough off but sometimes they stay on the skin, on top of the newer healthier cells. Dermaplaning removes those dead skin cells that are hanging on the skin. Theyāre dead anyway, they need to be removed for the new cells to come up to the surface.
