Self-care should be everyone’s priority. But, let’s be real, a lot of us never make ourselves a priority. I know I do but it took time for me to realize how important it is.
I’m sure you’ve heard of the expression “you can’t pour from an empty cup”. Well, it’s true. You can’t. It’s nearly impossible to care for others if you’re not taking care of yourself first.

Skin is our body’s largest organ, it protects everything from our lungs, muscles, heart, veins etc. It’s very important to take good care of it so it can protect us forever.
If we do take care of our skin, it’s usually the skin on our face that we take care of the most. It‘s what we see when we look in the mirror and it’s what we look at when we look at someone. It’s what ages us. It’s also a common area for hyperpigmentation and skin cancer.
None of us want to get wrinkles and sun spots but a lot of us don’t do anything to prevent them. Ironic huh. Life is funny that way, we don’t want to get skin cancer but yet we don’t wear sunscreen and we bake our skin in the tanning bed.
Self-care should be taken way more seriously. It doesn’t just mean to pop open a bottle of wine after a long day, it means to wake up every morning to appreciate our body for protecting us and allowing us to do the things we love.
Facials are both an investment in ourselves, our skin and an hour to let everything go and relax. It’s both great for our mental health and our skin health. Win win!
So, stop pouring from your empty cup because there’s nothing left to pour. Start by keeping your cup full by doing what you need and then help others with their empty cup.
